ARTIST STATEMENT

Why is the world full of marvels?

Why so many beauties?
Why so many wonders?

We feel that we are to fulfill the mission to reproduce, in the form of ‘specimen’ , the beautiful forms of wondrous plants and the magnificent culture of their tiny civilization that should doubtlessly exist somewhere in the world unknown to us.

The word ‘specimen’ does not ordinarily apply to what we create in the laboratory.

‘Specimen’ commonly refers to what we collect in the outer-world and preserve as a sample.

We would, however, call our artistic works ‘specimens’, because what we create in pursuit of truth and beauty are not the products from our manipulation in the laboratory.

We believe that our works are what are collected in the nature and reincarnated in our laboratory.

It may sound like a fantastic idea, but our mission is to materialize our phantasy.

We make every endeavor in creating what we can create with our feeble hands, and sending them out into the vast outer-world, that are full of possibility and hope.
